On Friday 26th September we held our coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Staff, parents and children donated cakes and biscuits and made decorations to raise a grand total of £256.65. Thank you to all who attended donated and helped. A special thank you to Ada’s Sweet Place, who donated a fabulous chocolate cake, which was raffled to raise extra money.

Golborne Village Commitee

The Golborne Village Committee (GVC) is a volunteer led, community group whose objectives are to create and support community events and activities for the betterment of people of Golborne.

The GVC was formed in August 2012. It started as a meeting of like-minded people from the community who represented groups active in the village. The aim of GVC is “To organise activities in Golborne & Lowton to promote a community togetherness and to improve Golborne for the benefits of the residents.”

The Committee consists of local business representatives from places such as Asda, Murphy’s Construction, The Millstone etc. There are also local residents and Ward Councillors on the committee.

The GVC organise a variety of events throughout the year both for the good of the community and to bring people together.

The committee want to bring as many community groups in the village together to work towards making Golborne a better place for its residents.
